My name is Patrick Gerard and I truly enjoy guiding people in finding exactly what they’re looking for!

Being born and raised on the south shore of Long Island has given me a great appreciation of how unique of an area it is, and why it’s such a sought after market for people looking to find their forever homes. Being so close to one of the greatest cities in the U.S. and so many great beaches makes Long Island such a gem. I didn’t realize just how good I had it growing up, until I spent four years working towards a degree at SUNY Cortland. Before, throughout and after my time at SUNY Cortland, I worked in restaurants and learned the industry. Working my way up through different positions and restaurants until I eventually became a partner in my own endeavor. Through all of this I have learned that effective communication, attention to detail, and being knowledgable on what you’re selling, can make a world of a difference in someone’s experience. Spending over a decade in the service industry has not only taught me this but helped me to cultivate incredible skill sets in communication and attentiveness, which I believe will translate well as I enter the world of real estate. Being able to affectively listen to someone’s needs, guide them through a purchase then see it through until the end is something I take great pride in and truly enjoy doing. To me there are few better feelings than the fulfillment I get when someone comes up to me and says “YOU made this such an enjoyable and smooth experience, Thank you”.

I honestly never saw myself leaving the industry I’ve loved for so long until I came to a crossroad. My restaurant endeavor did not pan out the way I expected and I had to move on. During all of this my girlfriend was in the process of buying her first home. She spoke about how great her agent was and how thankful she was to have an agent that was making this incredibly stressful financial decision, as smooth as possible. Seeing how much of a difference a good agent could make, is what got me out of my own way and lit the fire in me to start pursuing a career in real estate.

Quoting Alexander Graham Bell “When one door closes, another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us”. I’m sad to leave an industry that’s brought me so many fond memories but I’m thrilled that I was able to find this opportunity in a new field.
