In addition to being a rural escape from nearby New York City, the Hudson River Valley also has another major offering: some of the best antiquing in the northeast. A collection of quaint, small towns scattered throughout Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland counties and more have a sought-after offering of elegant vintage goods for collectors and admirers alike. Beacon Picturesque and pastoral, the small town of Beacon is an antiquer’s paradise. Along the town’s nearly mile-long Main Street is an eclectic collection of shops suited to a range of interests and budgets. First up, visit Beacon Flea Market on Sundays throughout the warmer months. The seasonal open-air market has an unparalleled range of products, from vintage jewelry to furniture to vinyl. A short 20-minute drive away is the Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market. First started in 1970, this institutional market has over 600 vendors for added variety. Cold Spring Twenty minutes south of Beacon is the town of Cold Spring. Though it may be small, it is mighty when it comes to its antique offerings. Main Street is peppered with an assortment of antique shops, like Cold Spring Antiques Center , offer a mix of dishware, vintage vinyl furniture and knick-knacks. Stroll down Main Street and you’ll also happen upon Solomon’s Mine , Sarabeck Antiques and Once Upon a Time —all perfect places to spend an afternoon digging for a hidden gem. Kingston An hour north of Cold Spring is Kingston. Situated about halfway between New York City and Albany, it is known for its unique blend of history and modernity. In the city’s Stockade Historic District is Outdated Cafe , an antique shop and coffee shop combination. At the other end of town is Milne Antiques and Design , that offers a seamless mix of antiques and modern design for a truly original offering. For a more traditional antiquing experience, opt for Zaborski Emporium just down the road and explore a shop bursting with light fixtures, door knobs, tools and more. Rhinebeck Across the Hudson from Kingston is Rhinebeck, a beautiful town that embraces its rural locale. The intersection of Montgomery, East and West Market and Mill Streets serves as the town’s center, where artisanal and specialty shops abound. The Beekman Arms is a historic inn that houses an antique market in its classic red barn. Across the intersection are  Portly Pug Antiques and Hudson Valley Vintage to round out the town offerings. Hudson Another 30 minutes north or Rhinebeck is the antiquing mecca: Hudson. This town—a recent favorite with New Yorkers looking to escape the city—is bursting with trendy restaurants, shops and boutiques. Along the town’s main artery, Warren Street, visitors will find an antique store every few feet. Start on 3rd Street and work your way south, encountering all of the shops this quaint town has to offer. Start at Warren Street Antiques , then move to 3FortySeven , Sutter Antiques , FINCH hudson and Red Chair on Warren for the complete Hudson antiquing experience. Find your home in the Hudson Valley.
