A palatial 23,136-square-foot oceanfront estate located between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway in Delray Beach, Fla., offers prospective buyers the chance to live in magnificent Mediterranean splendor. Known as Mar Pietra (or “Stone of the Sea”) and built over five years by the seller, the Italian optical tycoon Massimo Musa, the nine-bedroom, 12-bathroom, seven-half-bathroom property at 2325 S Ocean Boulevard is currently on the market for $60 million. The listing, represented by Douglas Elliman agents Senada Adžem and Virginia Schulze , is the second most expensive in Delray Beach. “It’s a true legacy home, a trophy estate,” Adžem told Mansion Global in March , when the property came to market. “It’s one of the most important homes in South Florida.” The Italian Renaissance-style villa was designed by Randall Stofft Architects and interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard and features custom stonework, plasterwork, millwork and murals by Italian artists and craftsman, including a ceiling fresco inspired by the Sistine Chapel. In addition to the main house, the property includes a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom guest house, a resort-style pool, a 13-car garage and an oceanfront lawn that doubles as a helipad. The seller is also offering to sell a one-third-acre plot across the street for an additional $10 million, which includes gardens, a pavilion, a dock and another pool and would enable the buyer to create an ocean-to-Intracoastal estate—“a rarity,” according to Mansion Global .
