by Elliman Insider Team

February 2024

On New York’s Atlantic Coast, in the historic beachfront city of Long Beach, a beloved tradition has taken place each Super Bowl Sunday for the past 24 years. The Long Beach Polar Bear Splash draws hundreds of participants who plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean in order to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation and help grant hundreds of heartfelt wishes for children with critical illnesses. This year, the Douglas Elliman sales team at The Boardwalk , a first-of-its-kind oceanfront condominium in Long Beach, was on hand to cheer on the plungers and offer restorative cups of hot chocolate. Kristin Altfather , Glen Fox , Nicholas Compagnone and Steven Halvey were joined by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who helped them serve the enthusiastic crowds. Fox and Altfather, the husband and wife duo behind The Fox Team , serve as Director of Sales for The Boardwalk on behalf of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing (DEDM) and are longtime residents of Long Beach. “Kristin and I have participated in the Polar Bear Plunge for many years, and it’s always an exciting day that we look forward to in the community,” said Fox. “Long Beach is our home. We love the strong sense of community here and life alongside this iconic boardwalk. This year, we were thrilled to step out there as representatives of The Boardwalk condominiums and to be able to engage our friends, neighbors and larger community in that way.” “We are so proud to be introducing The Boardwalk condominiums to Long Island, which is truly ushering in a new experience of coastal living here in Long Beach,” continued Altfather. “Our sales office is located on the boardwalk close to the entrance of The Super Bowl Splash, so we were in a great location to greet and serve people. There may have been some cold temperatures out there, but there were many warm hearts, and that’s always so wonderful to experience.” Renderings of The Boardwalk at Long Beach, NY Situated along 3.5 miles of pristine Atlantic shoreline, The Boardwalk condominiums bring a fresh wave of luxury living to one of New York’s most sought-after beach communities, with elegant residences, expansive views and more than 40,000 square feet of lifestyle amenities.
