Where to Eat Một Hai Ba This Asian fusion restaurant in east Dallas combines a variety of Asian and French cuisines under Serbian-born Chef Peja Krstic. The menu features a variety of complex and beautifully plated entrees that will satisfy carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians alike.   Beatrice This Cajun- and Creole-inspired dinner restaurant in Oak Cliff is a top-rated spot with convenient outdoor seating and delicious cocktails. Dedicated to sustainability, Beatrice is in the process of getting B Corp certified . The menu is constantly changing with the seasons, so be sure to check it out before going. Some current highlights include gumbo, jambalaya, duck confit and fried chicken.   Roots Southern Table If you’re craving authentic Southern food, Roots should be at the top of your list. Chef Tiffany Derry founded the restaurant with a goal of providing the home-cooked staples and hospitality that she herself grew up with. Start with cornbread or gumbo before moving onto the Texas red fish or rosewood gold wagyu New York strip steak.   Cattleack BBQ What’s Texas dining without barbecue? Cattleack BBQ is only open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., so you’ll need to plan your visit to the popular spot ahead of time. (They’re also open on the first Saturday of every month during the same hours.) You can get delicious meat by the pound, a variety of sandwiches, incredible sides and delicious desserts.   Where to Shop NorthPark Center NorthPark is the nation’s 20th largest shopping mall, with over 230 stores bringing in over $1 billion in sales every year. The indoor mall also features a variety of restaurants, movie theaters and museum-quality art on loan from the Nasher Sculpture Center.     Highland Park Village Constructed in 1931, Highland Park Village claims the title of America’s first shopping mall—the first planned with a coherent architectural style, stores facing a common area and under single ownership. The open-air mall features 200,000 square feet of retail space with brand-name fashion, accessories, beauty, jewelry and much more. There are also a number of restaurants to enjoy.   Dallas Design District Host to hundreds of upscale shops, art galleries and incredible restaurants, this famous Dallas neighborhood is appropriately named and a must-see for visitors. The district proudly boasts a lack of national chains and retailers, so expect an eclectic mix of unique shopping and dining opportunities that you just can’t get anywhere else.
