The Turtle Bay area has a rich history dating back to 1639 when the Dutch governor gave two Englishmen a land grant of 40 acres. The neighborhood has had a real renaissance in the 1920's. Mrs. Walton Martin bought 20 houses, which were built in the 1860's, and refurbished these residences adding a charming communal garden. This four story plus basement townhouse has a particular history as it was the former residence of Katherine Hepburn from 1931 until the late 1990's.
