CORONADO
Although the Hotel del Coronado, which opened in 1888, established the island of Coronado as one of the country's premier resort destination, today it is so much more. Connected to San Diego by a narrow peninsula, the "Crown City" is not only a treasured getaway, but also a desirable place to live. The flat, wide Coronado Beach is one of the best beaches in San Diego and surrounds a community that feels pleasantly small-town and has fabulous views of the city. Residents enjoy the dramatic drive over Coronado Bay Bridge.
