Neighborhood Guide

MIDWOOD

Midwood is highly livable yet retains a relatively low profile. Newcomers are lured by this predominantly Jewish area's great kosher options and Victorian architecture (single- and multi-family houses abound), or by one of the new condo developments. Many properties include a garage or a driveway, making owning a car easier than in some other favored neighborhoods. Businesses tend to cluster around Kings Highway, Nostrand Avenue, and lettered avenues like Avenue J and Avenue M. Midwood does not offer much in terms of nightlife, but its amenities, peaceful side streets, and large homes make it a great destination for families.
