Neighborhood Guide

ROSLYN

An iconic 44-foot clock tower, built in 1895, stands sentinel over Roslyn's quaint downtown, which includes upscale restaurants, boutiques, a movie theater and an LIRR station. The village's bucolic Gerry Pond Park has walking paths, a playground and a duck pond, while the elegant Roslyn Hotel houses a recently revived version of My Father's Place, a storied Roslyn music venue that attracted big names before closing in 1987. Historic homes from the 19th century and early 20th century are part of the housing mix, as are contemporaries, colonials, ranches and luxury condos. The upscale Americana Manhasset shopping mall is about a mile away.
