Neighborhood Guide

WINDSOR TERRACE

Tucked between Prospect Park and Green-Wood Cemetery, discreet Windsor Terrace has a lower profile than neighboring Park Slope but less of a suburban feel than its southern neighbors. Quiet is a big attraction here, as Windsor Terrace offers a tranquil lifestyle with a reasonable commute to Manhattan. Row and detached houses dominate many blocks (there are not many brownstones), and backyards and parking are abundant-as are independently owned businesses and restaurants. Kensington Stables is the only remaining such establishment near Prospect Park. With its small-town feel, Windsor Terrace is the kind of place where everybody knows your name.
