DITMAS PARK

In recent years, many families and professionals have been lured to Ditmas Park, which offers spacious apartments and detached single- and multi-family houses that are larger than their equivalent in Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights. Walking down some of the side streets, you may think you have landed in a suburban wonderland, complete with driveways. But while this central Brooklyn enclave is farther away from Manhattan than its high-profile competition, it still offers plenty of urban amenities and lively dining. Organic markets and yoga studios can be found easily nowadays, and the local schools have markedly improved.

Things to love about DITMAS PARK

  • Urban living at a sensible pace

  • One of Brooklyn's most dynamic dining scenes

  • Relatively larger apartments and detached houses appeal to young professionals and families
